[00:00:00] Can just a little daily exercise make you better at your job? Chinese researchers studied how physical exercise impacts job performance. Participants rated work demands and physical exercise from the prior day they completed a self rating of their morning positive affect, daily work engagement and end of workday well being, job performance and voluntary work behavior. [00:00:22] Exercise can serve as a powerful form of recovery after the workday, boosting job performance and improving well being the very next day. Even brief movement created noticeable boosts in next day motivation and energy. Exercise also increased how engaged people felt during the workday, helping them stay focused and productive. These effects were especially strong on days when work demands were highest, meaning exercise mattered most when people were most stressed. Results show that exercise benefits our mental health in the following day's work. Everyone make time to move today. Your body, your mood and your work will thank you tomorrow. Get moving.
